Mandarino claims two top six results at Moran Raceway |

 After competing overseas in the CIK-FIA KZ1 World Cup race with Intrepid France, Canadian pilot Lorenzo Mandarino traveled back to North America to compete in the final round of the Snap-on Stars of Karting finale at Moran Raceway in Beaumont, California.
After testing with the Champion Racing / Leading Edge Motorsports Intrepid program in previous months, Mandarino was able to secure two top ten results at the ultra fast Moran Raceway. After qualifying fifth in Saturday morning’s Intercontinental C (ICC) time trial session the talented Mandarino scored a sixth place result in the prefinal before advancing forward in the main event to score a strong top five result in fifth.
In Sunday’s action, Mandarino qualified his Intrepid machine on the inside of row four after some morning engine trouble. In the prefinal, the British Columbia resident was able to maintain his position before scoring another solid sixth place result in Sunday’s main event.
“Our results are not what we expected,” explained Mandarino after the event. “We ran into some motor issues throughout the weekend but managed to get them sorted out in time for both main events. I am going to try and continue to test with the Intrepid chassis and I will be back behind the wheel of a kart before the end of the season.”
 Mandarino will spend little time out of the drivers seat as he will get back behind the wheel of his Pro Mazda machine at the next round of the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear. Mandarino will be looking to score his second Mazda victory of the year when the series hits Road Atlanta in Baselton, Georgia in early October.
