Genesis Racing is pleased to announce a powerhouse lineup for this year's 2005 Stars of Karting Western Series. Genesis will be fielding drivers in the three top categories.
In ICC competition, Lorenzo Mandarino will be joining the CRG/Maxter supported team as well as continuing with his season in the Skip Barber National Series. Having Mandarino behind the wheel of the CRG/Maxter ride and Genesis behind the program, there is a great potential for race wins and championship title. With this acquisition, the attitude at the Genesis camp is one of great motivation and determination to succeed in 2005 shifter competition. Genesis' Steve Rickman will be working with Lorenzo throughout the season. Rickman has over 14 years of karting competition experience including several Stars events.
“I am looking forward to this year teaming up with Lorenzo,” said Rickman. “I have always liked working with him in the past and look forward to what may come this season.”
ICA will see the return of 2003 Stars of Karting Western Champion Kevin Glover. Glover returns with his tuner Paul Rickman for his fifth season with the team once again aboard the CRG Road Rebel chassis powered by Genesis Racing prepared Maxter engines. In recent tests Glover has looked in top form and ready for yet another ICA title. Joining Glover in ICA for his second year with the team will be the young Ecuadorian driver Matthias Calderon, who managed a brilliant third place finish at last years CartBC Stars race. This year however due to schedule conflicts Calderon will only be running at selected events.
In JICA, there will be three new additions to the Genesis squad. Scott Rossi of Langley, BC, Canada has joined up with the team for a full season and will be working again with his long time tuner Josh Beglaw. Rossi has had major national experience in several junior categories and is one of Western Canada's top junior talents and is looking poised to take a good run for great success this season. Rossi has impressed the team with his control of the kart and equally he is quite content with his switch to the CRG Genesis-tuned Maxter package. Eric Schwegler of North Vancouver, BC, Canada will be running selected races with the team and is in his first year in JICA since moving up from the Junior One class where he achieved several victories in British Columbia. Mitchell Egner is the third and final addition to the Genesis Junior team. Egner joins the team from Duncan, BC on Vancouver Island and will have his first season of Stars competition under the management of Vince Mandarino aboard a CRG Blue Demon-Maxter combination.
The team will continue to undergo testing in Vancouver at the CartBC facility and will be ready for its first race in Norman, Oklahoma at the Stars of Karting Race of the America's. For more information on Genesis Racing, CRG, or Maxter visit http://www.genesisracing.com
